Aubrey received her MFA in photography from Parsons the New School for Design, developing a body of work titled Between Dog and Wolf.  Using herself as subject, the series documents Aubrey challenging her physical and emotional barriers in the midst of secluded and compromising landscapes. Aubrey spent time at an Artist Residency in Iceland in February 2011 and exhibited work in the 2011 Pingyao International Photography Festival. More of Aubrey's work can be seen here.

Aubrey Hays

Issolation

After moving from Portland, Oregon to a Navajo Reservation in Arizona with her family, Aubrey Hays found solace in photography as a means of recording an “extremely transitional, isolating time” in her life. At age 15, Aubrey moved to Alaska, solo. Now a New York City based photographer, Aubrey’s nomadic experiences have allowed her to develop a sensitivity to place and surrounding- an element very prominent in her work.
